Welcome to Bet Knesset Shaarei Tefilla, Yad Binyamin, Israel בית כנסת שערי תפילה יד בנימין
We are the nusach Ashkenaz shul in Yad Binyamin, Israel and comprise more than 50 families who live in the newer Yad Binyamin housing developments. We are led by Rav Meir Orlian
Our davening is characterised by a warm and intimate atmosphere notable for:
- Decorum and a lack of talking during Tefilla
- a friendly, warm and welcoming environment
- Divrei Torah in English and/or Hebrew
We have a kiddush after Mussaf each shabbat which is a great time to meet new families.

History
Kehillat Shaarei Tefilla is the newest Bet Knesset in Yad Binyamin. It was started in a house, and as our membership has grown we have moved from a high school, to an old age home, to the Yad Binyamin matnas and now to our own building. The shul was established in order to meet the needs of those residents in Yad Binyamin who would like the familiarity of being able to daven nusach ashkenaz, hear divrei torah in English as well as Hebrew, and have an English-speaking Rav.
Our mitpallelim are a mixture of Olim and native Israelis although almost all our member families are olim. As such our shiurim tend to be mainly in English although on Friday night the dvar torah is given in Ivrit.
Language
We are not prescriptive about the language used in shul for divrei torah. Friday night's divrei halachot are in Ivrit and Shabbat morning drashot are mainly in English. Announcements are made in both English and Ivrit.
Our Rav
Rav Meir Orlian שליט"א is Rav of Shaarei Tefilla. Rav Orlian is now living in Yad Binyamin after thirteen years in Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh, and is already known to many members of the broader YB community. In addition to his focus on serving Shaarei Tefilla, Rav Orlian works together with Rav Hadaya and the other local Rabbanim for the spiritual benefit of the entire community. Rav Orlian is available to answer shaalot.
